Job description

Help Shape Magna's Digital Workplace!

As Magna Mining grows, so does the information, systems, and processes behind our operations. We’re looking for a Specialist, Information Management to help us build smarter, more connected ways of working.

Working within our IT team, you’ll use SharePoint, Power BI, Microsoft 365, and the Power Platform to improve how teams manage information, automate processes, access data, and collaborate across the organization.

If you enjoy finding a better way to do things and turning business needs into practical digital solutions, we want to hear from you.

All Magna Mining team members are expected to work collaboratively with others, lead the way in health and safety, act with honesty and integrity, and foster an entrepreneurial spirit in pursuit of excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Administer, develop, and continuously improve SharePoint sites, document libraries, lists, workflows, and collaboration solutions.
  • Establish and maintain document control and information management standards, including document lifecycle, retention, archiving, and governance.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to improve data visibility and support decision-making.
  • Build workflows, applications, and automated solutions using Power Automate, Power Apps, and other Microsoft Power Platform tools.
  • Work with departments to understand business needs and develop solutions that improve processes, reporting, collaboration, and access to information.
  • Support the integration and effective use of SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Power BI, and Power Platform tools.
  • Develop and maintain standardized information architecture, file structures, naming conventions, metadata, and permissions.
  • Ensure SharePoint and corporate information environments are secure, organized, accessible, and easy to navigate.
  • Manage and regularly review user access and permissions to support information security and confidentiality.
  • Support departments with the organization, migration, and ongoing management of corporate information.
  • Provide user support, training, and guidance to increase adoption of Microsoft 365 and digital workplace tools.
  • Identify and implement improvements through technology, automation, and process optimization.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required to support departmental and organizational needs.

Requirements

Who We’re Looking For

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Have post-secondary education in Information Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, Records Management, or a related field.
  • Bring 4+ years of related experience in document control, information management, records management, file management, or a similar role.
  • Have experience with document and file management practices and information governance.
  • Have experience with Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, or other reporting and automation tools.
  • Have experience turning spreadsheet-based processes into structured database or application-backed solutions — considered an asset.
  • Have strong working knowledge of SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and information management practices.
  • Can understand business needs and turn them into practical, user-friendly solutions.
  • Bring strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Can manage multiple priorities and adapt as business needs change.
  • Are committed to information security, confidentiality, and continuous improvement.
