REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSSuccessful applicants will possess the appropriate education, training and/or experience. NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS: - Master's degree in Education of the visually impaired - Qualifications in orientation and mobility are preferred - Valid BC Teaching certificate - Ability to travel between sites Candidates Should Have: - Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team - High level of interpersonal and organizational skills and ability to prioritize - Ability to collaborate effectively with school teams, families and community agencies - Knowledge of student eligibility for Ministry of Education Vision and Deafblind categories - Ability to provide universal tier one supports for students with vision challenges in classrooms - Ability to provide program/resource development for students with vision-based needs and to contribute to IEP development - Ability to consult with district and school-based staff, parents, and community agencies to support students with vision-based needs - Knowledge of current assistive technologies to support students with vision needs - A willingness to provide a variety of in-service opportunities to school and district staff - A willingness to attend district-based professional development opportunities in an effort to stay current and implement best practices For further information,
