Controller - 6-8 Month Contract

About Our Client

Our client is seeking a Controller for a 6-to-8-month contract.

About the Opportunity

· Preparation, review, and approval of all account reconciliations with necessary support

· Prepare and review journal entries

· Preparation of accurate financial statements on a timely basis

· Maintain reconciled bank balances

· Sales tax preparation

· Ensure adherence to accounting policies

· Oversee accuracy of weekly billings and payments

· Oversee and support accounting team of two (A/P and A/R)

· Finalize work instructions and propose process improvements in tandem with the team

· Participate in ERP improvement activities

· Ensure internal controls are adequate and followed properly

· Ad hoc reporting as requested

About You

· CPA designation required

· Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field an asset

· Minimum 5-10 years' experience in a senior-level accounting/finance position

· Minimum 3-5 years' management experience

· Advanced computer skills, specifically in Excel

· T1/T2 and ERP experience

· Knowledge and understanding of applicable laws and regulations
