Job description
Hello, My family is in need of a kind compassionate individual to assist us with afternoon care of our two children aged 7 and 11 years old. Our 11 year old son is named Murphy, he has ADHD and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Murphy is a unique individual who is very caring when you get know him. Murphy is working on controlling his body and learning to self regulate when he is overwhelmed. Murphy likes lego and Pokémon. He enjoys science and math but struggles with english and social studies. Our 7 year old Malcolm is a very sweet boy, he always wants to help and find ways to do things on his own. Mal is working on asking for help when he needs it and using his listening ears. Mal likes construction equipment, big trucks and everything his big brother is interested in. Our family also has a 5 year old Labrador poodle cross named Maggie. Maggie is very friendly and easily excited. She has always been good with our children and has never had any aggression problems. Care for maggie would be limited to letting her out for bathroom breaks and occasional walks if weather permits. Murphy and Malcolm both attend school during the week. Mal attends grade 2. Murphy attends grade 6 during the day. What we are looking for is someone to assist in the mornings before school and/or the evenings for bedtime. I am currently working away from home 2 weeks on 1 week off so I am trying to find assistance for my wife with teaching the boys chores and respite care. Murphy does qualify for support from FSCD and this position has the potential to expand hours pending approval from FSCD.
