Batcher/Paint Maker

We are seeking a detail-oriented, hard-working Paint Maker / Batcher to join a fast-paced paints and varnish processing plant. In this vital operational role, the successful Paint Maker / Batcher will handle the end-to-end production of high-quality oil-based, emulsion, and water-based coatings. As a key team member in manufacturing & logistics, you will oversee raw material mixing, equipment operation, product testing, and safety compliance to keep operations running smoothly.

As a Paint Maker / Batcher, your primary focus will be measuring, weighing, and loading raw ingredients according to strict formulation batch tickets and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Operating sandmills, high-speed dispersers, and computerized control consoles, the Paint Maker / Batcher ensures every batch meets precise quality, color, and physical performance standards. Work environment stability, high safety consciousness, and physical stamina are essential, as this position involves handling heavy loads up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and working in a dynamic factory setting.

Responsibilities
• Measure, weigh, and load chemical ingredients and raw materials following exact formulation cards and batch tickets.
• Start up, monitor, adjust, and shut down chemical formulation units, high-speed dispersers, and sandmills from control consoles or work stations.
• Take product samples and perform routine physical and chemical testing to ensure quality standards and color accuracy.
• Monitor reaction processes, transfers of products, and instrument readouts in strict accordance with safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate production records, batch reports, and inventory logs throughout the shift.
• Inspect, clean, and maintain tools, mill blades, and processing machinery after use to prepare equipment for subsequent batches.
• Keep assigned work areas clean, sweep floors, daily remove debris, and safely identify or cover in-use pails, tubs, and solvents.
• Adhere to all Health & Safety policies, Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations, and spill containment protocols.
• Collaborate with fellow Paint Maker / Batcher team members and provide backup support to filling and pre-batching operations as needed.

Qualifications
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent practical experience.
• Previous experience as a Paint Maker, Batcher, or chemical process operator in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
• Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting and carrying loads up to 23 kg (50 lbs) regularly.
• Capability to work comfortably in a plant environment with noise, dust, odors, and fluctuating temperatures.
• Full physical mobility (ability to navigate stairs carrying standard loads) and non-allergenic response to process chemicals.
• Standard vision including normal auditory performance and accurate color distinction capabilities.
