Our client is seeking an accomplished Director of Business Development to drive strategic growth and expand the organization's market presence. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Canada. The Director of Business Development will identify new business opportunities, develop growth strategies, and build strong relationships with key clients and business partners. This individual will manage the business development pipeline, support contract negotiations, establish revenue objectives, and monitor performance against organizational goals. Working collaboratively with internal teams, the Director will help shape service offerings and value propositions based on market demand, industry developments, and customer requirements. The position also includes leading cross-functional initiatives, mentoring team members, and representing the organization at industry events, client meetings, and other professional functions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, strategic partnerships, or a related commercial leadership function
-Demonstrated ability to identify market opportunities, develop growth strategies, and execute complex business agreements
-Strong record of meeting or exceeding revenue and organizational growth targets
-Advanced client relationship management, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills
-Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing projects from concept through implementation
-Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
-Data-driven approach to business planning, performance management, and strategic decision-making
-Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
-Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or a related field
-Advanced degree considered an asset
-Ability to work full-time in an on-site environment in Canada
-Ability to travel for client meetings, industry events, and other business requirements as needed
RESPONSIBILITIES
-Develop and execute business development strategies that support revenue growth and market expansion
-Identify, assess, and pursue new business opportunities, markets, partnerships, and prospective clients
-Build and maintain productive, long-term relationships with key clients, business partners, and stakeholders
-Lead market analysis efforts and monitor customer requirements, competitor activity, and industry trends
-Translate market intelligence into actionable business development strategies and recommendations
-Manage the business development pipeline and advance opportunities through the complete sales cycle
-Develop compelling proposals, presentations, service recommendations, and value propositions
-Lead or support negotiations involving contracts, commercial terms, and strategic agreements
-Establish revenue targets and track business development performance against organizational goals
-Collaborate with internal teams to shape and refine service offerings based on market and customer needs
-Coordinate cross-functional projects from initial concept through implementation
-Maintain accurate and current records of opportunities, client activities, pipeline progress, and performance results
-Mentor and support team members involved in business development and growth initiatives
-Represent our client professionally at industry events, conferences, client meetings, and networking functions
-Promote a collaborative environment that encourages new ideas, continuous improvement, and organizational accountability
