Job Description:
AWS Node.js tech lead
We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Tech Lead to the development and deployment of our high-performance backend platforms. In this role, you will spend roughly 75% of your time writing core backend code and establishing integration patterns and 25% code reviewing, and mentoring engineers. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in asynchronous programming with Node.js and extensive practical experience managing highly available, serverless environments on AWS.

Day to Day job Duties: (what this person will do on a daily/weekly basis)
Architecture & Design: Develop, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud-native microservices using event-driven systems.
Technical Leadership: Lead development teams by enforcing rigorous code reviews, proper error handling, and serverless best practices.
Backend Delivery: Design and write low-latency, high-availability serverless functions and construct robust RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
Cloud Infrastructure: Set up infrastructure-as-code patterns using tools like serverless framework Cloud formation, AWS CDK and Terraform.
DevOps Automation: Oversee complete CI/CD pipeline automation through modern tools like GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
Security & Reliability: Embed IAM controls, data encryption, and strict secrets management across all services. Set up tracking using CloudWatch.
Observability & Fine-Tuning: Monitor system health, track distributed traces, and optimize Lambda memory, timeout, and cold-start configurations
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Management and DevOps teams to align technology roadmaps with business goals

Basic Qualifications: (what are the skills required to this job with minimum years of experience on each)
Professional Experience: 7–10 years in enterprise software development environments.
Team Leadership: Minimum 2+ years of experience leading engineering sprint teams.
Node.js Ecosystem: Advanced mastery of JavaScript/TypeScript, Event Loop architecture, and web frameworks like Express.js or NestJS.
Core AWS Services: Hands-on mastery of Lambda (Serverless), API Gateway, S3, IAM, and containerization platforms like ECS/EKS.
Database Management: Deep understanding of schema choices using NoSQL (DynamoDB) and relational options (PostgreSQL/Aurora).
Messaging & Events: Experience using message brokers like AWS SQS, SNS, or EventBridge.
Agile Fluency: Confident operating in structured Agile, Scrum.
Travel: No travel. Preferred location is East Coast or Central.
Degree: Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for Canada-based positions. The starting pay range for this remote role is ($60.00-$85.00/Hour CAD). This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all Canada locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.

For candidates in Ontario, the starting pay range will be (must be no more than $85.00/Hour CAD).
