Principal Technical Writer

Our client, a designer and manufacturer of innovative HVAC solutions, is looking for a Principal Technical Writer, (french and english documentation).

• Write, review and organize technical documentation including installation manuals, programming guides, specifications, white papers and other product-related documents;
• Convert information provided by technical experts into clear and accurate content;
• Collaborate with engineering teams to create functional diagrams, flowcharts and technical illustrations;
• Develop technical content for brochures, the web and corporate presentations;
• Ensure documentation is updated for new products or when existing features are enhanced;
• Coordinate and supervise the work of technical writers and other contributors;
• Oversee the document review and approval process with various stakeholders;
• Conduct technical reviews with engineers;
• Ensure version and change management, and the archiving of documentation;
• Contribute to the evolution of documentation standards, tools, and processes.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Technical Writing, Engineering, Communications, graphic design or a related field;
• At least 5 years of experience in technical documentation or writing, ideally in a manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environment;
• Excellent command of technical writing principles, content structuring and the creation of user guides;
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Visio;
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms to a variety of audiences;
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
• Bilingual.
