Sr. Business Decision Support Professional
Location: Burnaby, BC
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 2 Days per Week in Office
MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Business Decision Support Professional to support one of British Columbia’s largest utility providers. This role will support business analysis, process improvement, operational readiness, and documentation initiatives within a technical telecommunications environment.
The successful candidate will bring extensive business analysis experience along with strong technical writing, process mapping, Microsoft Visio, and SharePoint capabilities. This position is well suited to someone who can work across technical and business teams to translate requirements into clear processes, documentation, and actionable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document complex business requirements.
- Translate business insights and requirements into strategic, actionable recommendations.
- Facilitate workshops with Subject Matter Experts, stakeholders, and implementation consultants.
- Develop detailed current and future-state process maps and workflow documentation using Microsoft Visio.
- Produce high-quality Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), technical documentation, process designs, and key decision documents.
- Ensure process design solutions align with identified business requirements.
- Develop and maintain working processes, tracking spreadsheets, and business documentation.
- Support process improvement, operational readiness, and business transformation initiatives.
- Create and maintain SharePoint lists and related content.
- Coordinate with diverse technical and business stakeholders to identify issues and develop practical solutions.
- Support reporting, documentation governance, and quality standards.
- Provide guidance and technical direction to team members where required.
Qualifications
- Approximately 11+ years of relevant experience in business analysis, business support, or related roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience with technical writing and business documentation.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Visio, particularly process mapping and workflow documentation.
- Strong hands-on experience with SharePoint, including creating and maintaining lists and related content.
- Strong proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and related Microsoft collaboration tools.
- Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements.
- Demonstrated experience developing future-state process designs, SOPs, and decision documentation.
- Experience with process improvement, operational readiness, or business transformation projects.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting telecommunications initiatives.
- Previous experience within the utility sector.
- Experience supporting Smart Metering Infrastructure (SMI) initiatives.
- Familiarity with enterprise documentation standards and governance practices.
- Experience with enterprise systems such as SAP, SharePoint, or Passport.
- Previous team leadership experience, including providing training, technical guidance, or direction to other team members.
