Accounting & Administration Manager
Location: Putnam, ON
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 per year
Benefits: Health benefits and RRSP matching available after 3-month probationary period
Our client is seeking an Accounting & Administration Manager to oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, cash management, and day-to-day office administration. This role combines hands-on accounting responsibilities with leadership of Customer Service, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable functions.
The successful candidate will be analytical, highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and consolidated financial statements.
- Prepare budgets, rolling forecasts, cash flow forecasts, and financial analysis.
- Analyze financial performance, budget variances, profitability, and business trends; provide recommendations to management.
- Coordinate tax filings, CRA/sales tax audits, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Oversee cash management, banking, and payment processes.
- Manage the General Ledger within the Ross ERP system and support financial process improvements.
- Oversee day-to-day office administration and supervise CSR, AR, and AP functions.
- Establish priorities, monitor workflow, and provide direction, coaching, and performance oversight to team members.
- Ensure effective coordination between Customer Service, Finance, Sales, and Operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, service levels, and profitability.
- Coordinate insurance renewals and review contracts from a financial and operational perspective.
- Support acquisitions, business growth initiatives, and other strategic projects.
- Maintain documentation of processes and promote a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Perform other duties and special projects as required.
Qualifications
- Accounting Designation
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical skills.
- Experience overseeing or coordinating AR, AP, and Customer Service functions.
- Strong ERP/system acumen; Ross ERP experience is an asset.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and adapt to change.
- Proactive, collaborative, and forward-thinking leadership approach.
- CPA designation or pursing CPA is an asset.
