We are currently seeking a qualified site superintendent specializing in institutional and commercial projects to oversee major jobsites located across the South Shore and the Greater Montreal area. As a site superintendent, you will play a central leadership role in managing daily field operations, coordinating trade subcontractors, and delivering high-quality renovation and redevelopment projects—specifically within the education and healthcare sectors.

This role requires strong hands-on expertise on active jobsites and a proven track record of managing complex construction activities in occupied environments. The ideal site superintendent will be responsible for maintaining project schedules, enforcing strict quality control standards, and ensuring full compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. Working in close collaboration with the project management team and the construction director, you will ensure that every phase of construction meets the highest industry standards, whether working on school renovations, hospital upgrades, or municipal recreational facilities.

Responsibilities
• Oversee and direct all daily field operations on institutional and commercial construction jobsites.
• Coordinate internal workers, trade contractors, and site personnel to ensure progress aligns with plans and specifications.
• Manage and monitor project schedules to ensure timely project delivery within established budgetary guidelines.
• Enforce strict compliance with provincial safety standards (CNESST) and company health and safety guidelines.
• Perform continuous quality assurance inspections on work executed across all construction trades.
• Lead daily jobsite coordination meetings and compile detailed daily progress reports for management.
• Proactively identify technical site challenges and implement effective field-level solutions with project managers.
• Assist with the final project closeout process, commissioning, and client handover to ensure complete satisfaction.

Qualifications
• Strong leadership and personnel management skills within an active construction environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex architectural drawings, structural blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Excellent time management, organizational, and field problem-solving abilities.
• Superior interpersonal communication and negotiation skills when dealing with sub-trades and site teams.
• Familiarity with modern construction management software and digital reporting tools.

• 5 to 10 years of experience as a site superintendent in the institutional or commercial construction sector.
• Demonstrated experience managing projects in occupied environments (e.g., schools, hospitals, community centers).
• Deep understanding of the National Building Code and provincial CNESST safety regulations.
• Valid ASP Construction general health and safety certification.
• Valid driver's license (Class 5) and mobility to travel to jobsites on the South Shore and Montreal.
