The Role GrizzlyTrek is hiring experienced dozer operators to join our valued client's team on oil sands sites near Fort McMurray, Alberta.
This is a full time rotational position on a 14 days on, 7 days off schedule, paying $29.00 to $40.00 per hour based on verified seat time.
Camp room and board is provided and travel is covered, with pickup from Edmonton or Fort McMurray.
You will be pushing overburden and muskeg, building and maintaining haul roads, prepping pads and lease sites, and working reclamation and tailings areas.
Machines run from D6 class up to D10 and D11 depending on the job.
Work runs year round, so you are moving wet ground in the spring and frost in the winter on the same sites.
What You'll Do Push overburden, muskeg, and sand on mine and construction spreads, holding grade and slope Cut, crown, and maintain haul roads and access roads so truck traffic keeps moving Build and level pads, lease sites, and laydown areas to stakes, laser, or GPS machine control Rip frost and hardpan and work wet or soft ground without getting the machine stuck Support reclamation and tailings work, including topsoil placement and contouring Complete daily walkarounds, pre-trip inspections, and greasing before the machine moves Take part in pre-job safety meetings, hazard assessments, and toolbox talks each shift What You Bring Verifiable dozer seat time in oil sands, mining, or heavy civil construction Able to hold grade and slope without someone standing over you Comfortable working around haul truck and shovel traffic, days and nights Valid Class 5 licence and reliable transportation to the pickup point Current CSO or CSTS-20, H2S Alive, and Standard First Aid Able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test and live in camp on a 14 and 7 rotation Preferred Qualifications GPS machine control experience (Trimble or Topcon) Time on large iron, D10 and D11 class Previous oil sands site orientation already on file Work Environment Active oil sands mine and construction sites north of Fort McMurray, worked year round in all weather.
Camp accommodation with room and board provided.
