Software Developer - AI Engineer

We're looking for a talented AI / Software Developer Engineer with expertise in Python programming and applied AI systems who will drive the design and implementation of sophisticated agentic AI solutions and Large Language Model (LLM) applications. This is a unique opportunity to build next-generation AI technologies for delivering advanced AI solutions to enterprise environments.

At RBC Global Security, you'll be joining a team that builds AI solutions to increase the security posture across the organization and enhance developer experience. The team has access to rich datasets and computational resources to support development in agentic AI systems, LLM applications, and intelligent security platforms. The role involves strategic design, hands-on development, mentorship, and execution to ensure objectives are accomplished with excellence.

What will you do?

• AI Architecture and Development: Design, develop, and optimize sophisticated NLP and Generative AI applications using Python that are scalable solutions for agentic AI systems, RAG pipelines, and LLM integrations

• Frontend and Full-Stack Implementation: Build responsive, user-centric interfaces using React and JavaScript; create seamless integration between AI backends and frontend components; ensure optimal user experience across platforms

• Applied AI Innovation: Lead the development of AI-driven security tools and intelligent automations; leverage vector databases, embedding strategies, and advanced prompt engineering; stay at the forefront of emerging AI trends and technologies

• Deployment and Infrastructure: Design and maintain robust deployment pipelines to cloud platforms (OpenShift, Azure, AWS); containerize applications using Docker; build CI/CD workflows with GitHub Actions

• Security and Integration: Architect cybersecurity applications for scalability and resilience; integrate Gen AI solutions with SIEM systems; ensure security best practices throughout the development lifecycle

• Technical Leadership: conduct code reviews; drive best practices in Python development, AI frameworks, and architectural patterns

• Problem Solving and Optimization: Perform root-cause analysis for complex issues; develop back-end components that maximize responsiveness and performance; optimize applications for scalability and security

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with security architects, product teams, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into innovative AI solutions

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• 4+ years of professional software development experience, with 3+ years focused on AI/ML applications

• Expert-level Python programming proficiency; demonstrated ability to write production-grade, efficient, and maintainable code

• Deep experience designing and deploying NLP and Generative AI applications

• Proven expertise with vector databases, LLMs, and RAG pipeline architectures

• Advanced proficiency with AI frameworks (FastAPI, LangChain, LangGraph) and Python libraries (NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn)

• Strong frontend development skills with React and JavaScript; ability to build or architect full-stack AI solutions

• Experience with Source Code Management (Git) and GitHub Actions

• Solid understanding of cloud platforms (OCP, Azure, AWS) and web services (SOAP, REST)

• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database design and optimization

• Proficiency with middleware technologies (MQSeries/Kafka, Redis)

• Strong understanding of cybersecurity practices and secure coding principles

Nice-to-have

• Experience with Docker and containerization platforms

• Certification in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)

• Experience with MLOps tools and frameworks

• Background in natural language processing or machine learning research

• Knowledge of emerging AI technologies (transformer architectures, prompt engineering techniques)
