At Automated Logic, we've been developing and supporting intelligent building solutions that have helped customers, including small businesses to Fortune 500 corporations, operate their buildings more efficiently for over 40 years. Our products help reduce energy consumption, lower utility, operating and maintenance costs, and improve indoor air quality, occupant comfort, and productivity. Technology that supports the buildings and industry of today and tomorrow requires a wide range of talents and skill sets.

About This Role

At Automated Logic, a Carrier Company, we provide a work home for people who want a career, not just a shift. As a Controls Specialist, you are entering the industry on the ground floor with a clear path to becoming an expert. We are looking for people ready to grow - self-directed learners eager to master DDC through hands-on troubleshooting. If you are willing to travel and enjoy solving fresh technical challenges every day, you’ll fit right in.

This role requires a high level of accountability for system performance and a willingness to travel to support our dynamic operations. If you want to own your projects from start to finish, you’ll fit right in.

Our technicians say: “I finally found it. Not just a job. Not just a paycheck. A work home.”

If that sounds like you, welcome home.

This is an onsite role in Mississauga and requires 90% of the time traveling to clients’ sites in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Key Responsibilities

  • System Performance: Install, commission, and optimize advanced DDC systems, ensuring controls, sensors, and networks meet performance standards.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Use technical judgment to solve automation challenges and mitigate project risks before they impact timelines.
  • Technical Leadership: Train owners on system operation and partner with Project Managers to manage risks and improve execution.
  • Travel & Growth: Travel as needed and adapt to changing schedules while taking end-to-end ownership of complex projects.
  • Project Integrity: Maintain accurate documentation and participate in project reviews to drive continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in the Building Automation or HVAC Controls industry.
  • Hold a valid, current Driver’s License and be insurable by the company’s insurance carrier.
  • Lift items up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as squat and climb for extended periods.
  • Capable of working over 8 feet above grade and proficient in the use of ladders and motorized lift equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background: Degree or Technical Certificate in HVAC, Controls, or a related field.
  • Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of BAS integration and TCP/IP. Experience in building automation software, such as WebCTRL, and installing building automation controls.
  • Project Ownership: Demonstrated experience in delivering turnkey solutions while independently working with increasing scope complexity and managing resources to meet all milestones.
  • Technical Problem Solving: Proactively identifies and resolves system issues using a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical plans.
  • Software & Systems: Proficient in loading and configuring building automation software, including trends, alarms, system reports, and end-user training. Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Working Communication: Clearly translates technical project details for customers and maintains disciplined documentation and safety standards.
  • Quality & Improvement: Anticipates customer needs and provides feedback on field tools and processes to drive operational efficiency and reliability.
