Hi! We’re a family of five looking for a warm, energetic and adventurous nanny to become part of our family and help care for our three children, ages 7, 3 and 1. We divide our time between Victoria and one of BC’s Gulf Islands, and our nanny would have their own private space at both homes. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable moving back and forth with us and who enjoys a lifestyle that is a little less conventional than a typical nanny position. We are a very outdoorsy family and are fortunate to live on the water. Our days often involve the beach, boating, swimming, water sports, forest walks, exploring outside, crafts and creative projects. We’d love to find someone who genuinely enjoys being outdoors and is excited to help our children explore, learn and be creative. The role would include: * Caring for and playing with our three children * Helping with part-time homeschooling and learning activities, particularly with our 7-year-old * Planning creative activities, crafts and outdoor adventures * Beach days, forest walks, swimming and lots of outdoor play * Preparing simple, healthy meals and snacks for the children/family * Light housekeeping and helping keep children’s spaces and daily life organized * Occasionally joining us for trips to Vancouver, other Gulf Islands and around coastal BC Because so much of our life revolves around the ocean, strong swimming skills and confidence around water are essential. Water safety is extremely important to us. CPR/First Aid certification and experience caring for young children are strongly preferred. We would especially love to find someone who is happy, kind, patient, responsible, creative and genuinely enjoys spending time with children. Someone who is flexible and comfortable with babies and young children, but who can also engage and encourage an active and curious 7-year-old. This could be a wonderful fit for someone who loves children, nature, the ocean and an active West Coast lifestyle and would enjoy becoming a trusted and valued part of a family rather than having a traditional 9-to-5 nanny position.
