Description

Background Information:

• The Agency Mental Health & Addiction program requires technical analytics support to deliver the latest Provincial Data Set version 2.0 and other clinical area analytics.
• The position is required to support the advancement of our data, reporting, and critical ministry-related commitments.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze requirements, design, code reports.
• Develop script for using health system/administrative databases, including linking datasets and building analytic cohorts.
• Design, create, and maintain cloud-based data analytics models, and visualizations (dashboards and reports).
• Liaise with project members to implement products, conduct reviews, resolve operational problems, and support clinical partners in effective use of cloud-based data and analytics products.
• Analyze complex technical issues, identify alternatives and recommend solutions.
• Develop technical scripts in alignment with Mental Heath & Addiction Clinical priorities
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and analytics products supporting the Provincial Data Set (PDS) 2.0 and MHA clinical reporting priorities.

Required Skills:

• Written and oral communication skills to participate in meetings, write and/or edit systems documentation, prepare and present written reports on findings and/or alternate solutions, develop guidelines and best practices
• Experience with large health system and administrative databases, including linking datasets and building analytic cohorts.
• Background in health data and public-sector/government experience is required.
• Interpersonal skills to explain and discuss advantages and disadvantages of various approaches
• Experience in conducting knowledge transfer sessions and building documentation for technical staff related to architecting, designing, and implementing end to end data and analytics products

• Familiarity with mental health & addictions data and clinical concepts.
• Understanding of PHIPA and data privacy/governance requirements.
• Experience working in product-team delivery environments.

Additional Terms

• The term of this Engagement Assignment is for 166 Business Days, with an option to extend for up to an additional 253 days at the Agency's discretion. The Engagement Assignment may be extended for unused Business Days at the Agency's discretion.
• The resource will comply with the Agency's policies and procedures.
• The resource will be issued an Agency laptop and is expected to provide at least one additional monitor, an external keyboard and a mouse at their own expense. In addition, when the resource is working from their home location they must have a private office space and are not permitted to work in an open communal space. Internet connection must be hard-wired and suitable bandwidth to support the IT requirements of this role. If these conditions cannot be met within their home office space, the resource will transition to full time in office, and the hybrid option will no longer be available.
• The Agency systems cannot be accessed from outside the province of Ontario, and Agency assets including laptops and related equipment cannot be removed from the province of Ontario, without prior written approval from the Agency.
• Assignment Type: This position is currently listed as "Hybrid". The resource under this request will be required to work onsite as per Hiring Manager sole discretion.
