Our client, a leading organization in the finance and leasing industry, is seeking an experienced Bilingual Collector to join their Collections Department. Collections Analyst will be responsible for managing past-due accounts, negotiating payment arrangements, and identifying effective solutions to support successful customer performance under financial contracts. This role requires strong analytical and negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the confidence to make strategic decisions when pursuing recovery efforts.

Pay Rate: $27–$30 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (hybrid)
What's the Job?
- Contact customers by phone, email, text message, and other written correspondence regarding past-due accounts and related matters.
- Work directly with customers to bring accounts current by developing and negotiating appropriate payment arrangements.
- Use established practices and innovative solutions to resolve delinquent accounts.
- Perform and interpret various searches and due diligence, including credit bureau checks, skip tracing, asset comparables, buyouts, and financial statements.
- Analyze account information and determine appropriate recovery strategies.
- Retain and communicate with third-party service providers as required in connection with recovery efforts.
- Recommend and process files for default on non-performing accounts.
- Provide recommendations to management regarding the best course of action on challenging or high-risk accounts.
- Maintain meticulous and accurate notes and supporting documentation using internal file management software.
- Handle sensitive and difficult customer conversations professionally while working toward effective solutions.
- Perform other duties and tasks as required.
What's Needed?
- Minimum 4 years of collections experience is required.
- Previous experience in a Collections Analyst, Senior Collector, Credit & Collections, Accounts Receivable, or similar role is strongly preferred.
- Fluency in both English and French is required.
- Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proven ability to handle challenging and difficult conversations with customers.
- Experience reading and interpreting credit bureau reports and financial statements.
- Experience with skip tracing and other routine searches/due diligence.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
- Experience in the finance or leasing industry is considered a strong asset.
- University or college degree in a business-related field is preferred.
