MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking an Electrical & Controls Engineer / Technologist on behalf of our client to join a growing Electrical & Automation team supporting infrastructure projects across Western Canada.
This is a hands-on design role for an experienced EIC professional who wants to remain directly involved in electrical power and controls design, while supporting projects through construction and commissioning. The strongest candidates will bring a consulting engineering background, 5–10+ years of EIC experience, and a P.Eng. or P.Tech. designation allowing them to stamp engineering work. Direct design experience is critical; this is not a programming-only or design-review position.

- Review technical designs and ensure engineering work meets applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Provide construction support including RFIs, shop drawing reviews, site reviews, troubleshooting, and deficiency resolution.
- Participate in commissioning, startup, testing, and operator training.
- Coordinate directly with clients, contractors, equipment manufacturers, system integrators, operators, and internal project teams.
- Apply quality procedures to check designs, document technical decisions, and maintain consistent project delivery.
- Support proposals, scopes of work, fee estimates, and RFP responses.
- Contribute to the continued development and growth of the Electrical & Automation practice.
