What will your typical day look like?

As a Practitioner in Engineering, you will work with teammates and clients to help organizations transform their business performance and creating new efficiencies through engineering practices. You should have strong development skills and experience with modern programming languages/frameworks and scripting (e.g., Java, C#, Bash, Powershell, Python, Ruby, etc.) as well as exposure to architecting solutions for systems and applications, including knowledge of cloud infrastructure and engineering and/or experience with design patterns and object-oriented design to architect systems and applications.

The Deloitte Engineering practice provides advisory to our clients to support with:

Within the Engineering practice, there are different sub-offerings, and you may be able to identify yourself with one or multiple of these.

  • The Cloud Strategy & Architecture sub-offering assists clients with accelerating the adoption of cloud and other emerging technologies by advising on how to align technology innovation and cloud strategy with business priorities, quantify the business case, architect the applications landscape, and drive large-scale modernizations. Works with clients to shift their enterprise operating models to be more cloud-centric and technology innovation oriented.
  • The Platform Development & Integration sub-offering architects, designs, implements, and supports scalable cloud native and on-premises applications using modern delivery methods for clients. Delivers services enabled by infrastructure solutions to connect, deploy, optimize, and operate public and hybrid-cloud solutions across market-leading platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, etc. Provides solutions that span the transformation lifecycle from identification and analysis through solution design and implementation. Assists clients with the architecture, design, development, and operating of flexible, reusable, and scalable integration solutions.
  • The Product Engineering & Development sub-offering optimizes product attributes and offerings to drive growth and improve cost. Improves product development processes and delivers product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions to enable digital lifecycle management of products.
  • The Quality Engineering sub-offering provides clients with automation and DevOps-led, high-quality, and cost-efficient testing services to measure and maximize systems and application quality for cloud, digital, mobile, enterprise applications, and custom developed solutions. Supports clients across the end-to-end delivery lifecycle by advising on test quality optimization, strategy and center of excellence (CoE) enablement, and providing execution and foundry services support in test management and test case execution.
  • The Cloud Migration sub-offering helps clients realize the transformational capabilities of cloud as an opportunity for business enablement and competitive advantage through the migration and appropriate architecture of workloads for the cloud.

  • We are looking for candidates who:
  • Have completed or are currently working towards completing a post-secondary degree or graduate degree program, pursuing Computer Science, Engineering, Math/Statistics, Business/ Commerce or another relevant degree
  • Are graduating by September 2027
  • Proficiency with modern programming languages/frameworks and scripting (e.g., Java, C#, Bash, Powershell, Python, Ruby, etc.)
  • Exposure to architecting solutions for systems and applications, including knowledge of cloud infrastructure and engineering and/or experience with design patterns and object-oriented design to architect systems and application
  • Quick to learn new technologies, easy to adapt to new environments, thrive on solving challenging problems with technical solutions / OR / Able to work in multiple technical environments and able to work with peers and business stakeholders to collect and document assessment needs
  • Enjoy working in teams, facilitating discussions, and co-creating practical solutions with others
  • Display initiative, creativity, enjoy problem solving and are looking to make an impact
  • Can demonstrate strong technical proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Project) and interested in using dashboards and tools to turn risk data into clear insights
  • Are eager to learn on the job and are interested in pursuing relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CPA)
  • Are legally eligible to work in Canada and able to enter the USA to work on client assignments

Quebec Location: We require basic English language skills to meet the needs of our clients. In the context of mandates, you could work for clients with activities outside of Quebec and where the first language is English.

Ottawa Location: Employees in the Ottawa practice will be required to obtain “reliability” and/or “Secret” level federal security clearances as a condition of their employment. To be eligible for a "Reliability" status you must have resided in Canada for the last five (5) years and for "Secret" level, the last ten (10) years.

Total Rewards


The salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $122,000.00, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
