Senior AWS Developer / Technical Lead – Node.js, TypeScript & Cloud-Native Applications - Banking client
Duration: 6 Months
Location: Toronto (Hybrid, 2-3x/week)
Overview:
We are seeking a Senior AWS Developer with lead experience to design, develop, and support AWS-based solutions. The role requires strong hands-on development skills, the ability to work independently, and experience translating requirements into scalable technical solutions. The successful candidate should be comfortable owning delivery, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical leadership while remaining hands-on.
Must haves:
- Senior-level AWS development experience with lead / technical leadership experience
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- AWS Lambda
- ECS / Fargate
- API Gateway
- DynamoDB
- Systems Manager Parameter Store
- Secrets Manager
- IAM
- Strong development experience with Node.js, JavaScript and TypeScript
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code
- Experience designing and architecting AWS solutions
- Strong understanding of:
- SDLC best practices
- security best practices
- unit testing
- APIs
- batch processing
Nice to have:
- AWS cloud costing / cost-management experience
- Experience with AI-related technologies including:
- GitHub Copilot
- MCP
- vectors / vector technologies
- LLMs
- prompt engineering
- Experience with VS Code, JIRA, Confluence and Postman
