Our client is a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm with decades of experience delivering engineering and design services across Canada. Their team supports projects from initial concept and design through construction and maintenance across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, power quality, instrumentation, and controls.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil and building engineering projects from concept through construction.
- Develop and review engineering designs, calculations, permit drawings, and construction documents.
- Provide technical direction and oversee the preparation of working drawings.
- Support structural conceptual design and technical markups for buildings and structures.
- Oversee design and documentation for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures.
- Coordinate with internal engineering disciplines, clients, consultants, contractors, and production staff.
- Perform construction field reviews and inspections as required.
- Review shop drawings and provide technical direction during construction.
- Perform engineering calculations using company-standard and manufacturer-specific software.
- Support permitting activities and ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards.
- Prepare technical reports and project documentation.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and production staff.
- Support project planning, coordination, and delivery while maintaining strong client relationships.
Qualifications - Minimum 5 years of engineering and design experience, preferably within building projects.
- P.Eng. or E.I.T. registration with APEGA.
- Strong understanding of building engineering and structural concepts.
- Experience working with concrete, steel, masonry, and wood/timber construction.
- Ability to take engineering designs from concept through construction drawings.
- Strong knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada (NBCC) and applicable codes and standards.
- Experience with permit drawings, permitting processes, and construction administration.
- Experience conducting field inspections and reviewing shop drawings.
- Strong technical writing and report preparation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Experience with HVAC, plumbing and piping, fire protection, controls, or other building systems is considered an asset.
