Job descriptionWe are a young family in Calgary looking for an experienced, caring, and dependable nanny to join our household and help care for our three children, ages 5 years, 2 years, and newborn. Our 5-year-old and 2-year-old attend daycare on weekdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, so during the daytime hours, the nanny will primarily be caring for our newborn. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working in a busy, multi-child household and is confident caring for a newborn while also engaging our older children when they are home. The ideal candidate is calm, nurturing, organized, attentive, and comfortable balancing the different needs of young children. Responsibilities - Provide attentive, nurturing care for our newborn, including feeding, diapering, soothing, and supporting a healthy sleep and daily routine. - Care for and engage our 2-year-old and 5-year-old through age-appropriate play, learning, reading, and activities when they are home. - Help our 5-year-old with schoolwork, reading, and homework as needed. - Prepare simple meals and snacks for the children. - Assist with morning routines and getting the children ready for daycare/school. - Keep children's spaces and commonly used areas tidy and organized. - Help with children's laundry, folding, and putting clothes away as needed. - Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment. - Communicate openly with parents about the children's routines, needs, and activities. Approximately 20 hours per week: Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM–8:30 AM — 5 hours/week Monday: 4:00 PM–7:00 PM — 3 hours/week Tuesday: 12:00 PM–6:00 PM — 6 hours/week Wednesday: 12:00 PM–6:00 PM — 6 hours/week Total: 20 hours/week Ideal Candidate Experienced caring for newborns and multiple young children. Calm, patient, warm, and genuinely enjoys caring for children. Comfortable managing the needs of children at different developmental stages. Reliable, punctual, responsible, and trustworthy. Able to work independently while following parents' routines and preferences. Strong communication skills and good judgment. Non-smoker. First Aid/CPR certification is an asset. Newborn-care experience is strongly preferred. Start Date We are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible, with a latest start date of Monday, August 24, 2026.
