Qualifications and Experience
: Experience in maintenance, facilities or janitorial related roles Professional and courteous communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues, students and parents. General computer skills for ticketing system and email Maintain Level 1 First Aid and WHMIS Certifications (Training available through School) Able to obtain certification in scissor lift and fall arrest within 3 months of employment Able to perform physical work including bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50lbs Experienced with using and maintaining hand and power tools A solid understanding of plumbing, electrical and carpentry techniques and methods Able to respond to emergency situations and troubleshoot problems. Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Able to be flexible, self-motivated and take initiative Key Responsibilities Cleaning Perform routine cleaning throughout the school Replenish consumables throughout the school washrooms, kitchens and classrooms Ensure all washrooms meet hygiene and safety standards Prompt response to child accident clean up situations Clean building exterior accessible areas and grounds including power washing and graffiti removal Performing snow removal, salting and other seasonal landscaping responsibilities Deep cleaning of whiteboards, walls, cupboards and equipment during school closure periods Maintenance & Repairs Timely completion of repair and maintenance assignments throughout the Stratford Hall Campus Assist with general maintenance and repairs, including wall repair, painting, installation of fixtures, furniture and equipment. Conduct routine inspections of equipment, playgrounds, drainage systems, reporting any deficiencies to the facilities manager Assist with minor plumbing fixes including drain and toilet blockages Wall repair and painting Operations, Event support & Miscellaneous Providing support for event setups and tear downs. Transporting equipment, furniture, and supplies across Campus as needed Prioritizing safety of staff and students through patrolling buildings and grounds, daily sweeps of neighboring parks, sidewalks and Staff parking stalls Report on unsafe and faulty equipment to Facilities Manager Assist with traffic control at drop off and pick up times Participate in required safety and emergency response training Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the facilities manager Application Process Interested applicants should apply with a cover letter and resume.
