The Part Time EarlyON Teen Mothers Educator is responsible for the implementation of the EarlyON and Teen Mothers’ Program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Establishes and implements age-appropriate routines for the children in accordance with the philosophy of the EarlyON program Works with the children and their parents in a group while maintaining sensitivity to each child’s individual needs Takes responsibility for maintaining an orderly and tidy playroom, clean equipment, and tidy cupboards Ensures that the Centre is set up appropriately for child/caregiver activities.

Orders required supplies and equipment Supervises volunteers and placement students Ensures that the Health and Safety Guidelines are followed in accordance with the policies and procedure of YWCA Toronto Other duties as required QUALIFICATION An Early Childhood Education Diploma or Social Service Worker or a recognized equivalent plus 1-3 years’ experience with children ages 0 to 6 is an asset.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills First Aid Certificate Knowledge of early childhood development, theory and practice Skills and flexibility to work with mixed age groupings from 0 to 6 Experience working within a multicultural environment Second language is an asset Please note: A vulnerable sector police reference check is required by the successful candidate prior to hiring.
