Where You Will Be Working Nasittuq supports operations across the North Warning System (NWS), a network of remote sites located throughout Canada’s Arctic. Based in Ottawa, you will support contract administration, procurement, subcontract management, and commercial activities that sustain critical northern infrastructure and operations.

In keeping with our commitment to northern communities and Indigenous employment, priority consideration will be given to qualified Inuit beneficiaries, including those enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement, Inuvialuit Final Agreement, and Nunatsiavut Land Claims Agreement. Applicants are encouraged to self-identify.

Why This Role? This role offers an opportunity to work on complex contracts, procurement initiatives, and commercial activities supporting a critical national defence program. You will collaborate with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders while developing expertise in contract management, procurement, proposal support, and Government of Canada contracting.

What You'll Do:

Maintain accurate, complete, and auditable contract, subcontract, procurement, and commercial records throughout the contract lifecycle.

Prepare, negotiate, issue, administer, and amend contractual instruments including contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, terms and conditions, and supplier agreements.

Serve as a point of contact for customers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding routine contractual and commercial matters.

Provide guidance on contractual obligations, deliverables, compliance requirements, and contract administration processes.

Administer and maintain contract deliverables tracking systems, ensuring contractual submissions are monitored and reported accurately.

Maintain contract and procurement information within MERX, Maximo, Oracle, SharePoint, and other corporate systems.

Manage departmental correspondence by monitoring inquiries, assigning actions, tracking outstanding items, and ensuring timely responses.

Lead competitive subcontract and procurement activities, including preparing solicitation documents, coordinating bidder communications, facilitating evaluations, and supporting subcontract awards.

Review Statements of Work, technical requirements, and project objectives to support compliant and commercially sound sourcing decisions.

Monitor contract performance, funding utilization, deliverable schedules, and compliance with contractual obligations.

Support proposal development and additional work requests by coordinating supplier inputs, preparing commercial documentation, and incorporating appropriate contractual terms and conditions.

Promote Inuit participation by engaging Inuit organizations and businesses in procurement and subcontracting opportunities, where appropriate.

Identify and escalation contractual risks, compliance concerns, and commercial issues to the Contracts Manager.

Perform additional duties and projects assigned in support of departmental objectives and organizational priorities.

Who You Are: CREDENTIALS:

SKILLS:

Strong understanding of contract law principles and Government of Canada contracting and procurement policies.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear, concise, and accurate documentation.

Strong analytical, critical-thinking, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.

High attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy in document preparation and records management.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Advanced computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and contract management systems.

Ability to exercise sound judgment and make commercially responsible decisions.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
