Job description
COMMUNITY SUPPORT TEAM /RESTORATIVE JUSTICE/YOUTH MENTALHEALTH COURT PROGRAM/ATTENDANCE CENTER WORKERFull-time Position in Kapuskasing (with travel throughout the NEOFACS Cochrane Catchment area as required)
This position will be a member of the Youth Justice Team, and the primary responsibilities include but are not limited to; providing intervention and support services to young persons involved in the youth criminal justice system. This includes providing intervention services that focus on reintegrating the youth into community, developing social skills and increasing a youth’s ability to cope, problem-solve and regulate with their emotions. The successful candidate will also deliver least-intrusive, community-based interventions through restorative justice processes, court-ordered attendance programming, and mental health diversion. The goal of the services is aimed at assisting and support youth and families to promote accountability, rehabilitation, mental wellness, and community safety.
JOB REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS):
  • Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Law and Justice or Social Work is preferred. A College diploma in Social Service Worker or Child and Youth Worker may also be considered.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience in interpreting and applying the legislative acts, regulations, and policies of the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) and Youth Criminal Justice Act.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as they relate to youth and families.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours as required.
  • Must be willing to travel as required.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is required.
  • Candidates must possess a minimum G2 driver's license at the time of application and be willing to obtain a valid G Class driver's license as a condition of employment or already possess a valid G Class driver's license and have access to their own vehicle.

Poste à temps plein à Kapuskasing

Ce poste fera partie de l’équipe de justice pour la jeunesse, et les principales responsabilités comprennent, sans s’y limiter, la prestation de services d’intervention et de soutien auprès des jeunes impliqués dans le système de justice pénale pour les adolescents. Cela inclut la prestation de services d’intervention axée sur la réintégration des jeunes dans la communauté, le développement de leurs compétences sociales et l’amélioration de leur capacité à faire face aux difficultés, à résoudre des problèmes et à gérer leurs émotions. La personne retenue devra également offrir des interventions communautaires les moins intrusives possibles, notamment par le biais de processus de justice réparatrice, de programmes de fréquentation obligatoire ordonnés par le tribunal et de mesures de déjudiciarisation en santé mentale. Ces services ont pour objectif d’aider et de soutenir les jeunes et les familles afin de favoriser la responsabilisation, la réadaptation, le bien-être mental et la sécurité communautaire.
EXIGENCES DE L’EMPLOI (QUALITÉS ET COMPÉTENCES REQUISES):
  • Un baccalauréat en criminologie, en droit et justice ou en travail social est préférable. Un diplôme d’études collégiales en travail social ou en travail auprès des enfants et des jeunes peut également être pris en considération.
  • Connaissance approfondie et expérience dans l’interprétation et l’application des lois, règlements et politiques du ministère des Services à l’enfance et des Services sociaux et communautaires, ainsi que de la Loi sur le système de justice pénale pour les adolescents.
  • Excellentes compétences en matière d’analyse et de résolution de problèmes liés aux jeunes et aux familles.
  • Excellentes compétences en communication, en relations interpersonnelles et en organisation.
  • Doit être disposé et apte à travailler selon un horaire flexible, au besoin.
  • Doit être disposé à voyager au besoin.
  • Le bilinguisme (anglais/français) est requis.
  • Les candidats doivent être titulaires d’un permis de conduire G2 au moment de la candidature et être disposés à obtenir un permis de conduire de classe G valide comme condition d’emploi ou être déjà titulaires d’un permis de conduire de classe G valide et avoir accès à leur propre véhicule.
