Job Details: Job Title: Financial Analyst Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada - M3B 0A4 Duration: 06 + months (Temp to Perm) Pay Rate: $32.79 per hour HYBRID ROLE 2 DAYS ONSITE 3 DAYS REMOTELY Position Summary The Financial Analyst role will handle financial reporting activities of Company and to extend full support to the Accounting Manager in month end closing activities including the preparation of monthly Finance Package and forecasting and budgeting. The position will also support as part of the shared services team.
Key Accountabilities / Key Areas of Responsibility Active preparation and support to month-end, year-end close and budgeting processes for Company. - Preparation and timely submission of OneStream (according to IFRS and Company Group standards) as well as preparation and submission of quarterly Financial notes to the statements to the Group.
- Preparation and coordination of the monthly internal financial reporting package for Management review.
- Support in annual MTMP construction process.
- Performs Balance Sheet account reconciliations (must provide analytical insight that supports conclusions).
Financial Analysis: - Preparation of monthly Income Statement comparison of Actuals to Budgets (variance analysis).
- Preparation of monthly variance analysis of Balance Sheet to budget and forecast (must provide relevant financial information to decision makers).
- Actively supports the daily, weekly and monthly internal reporting requirements for treasury, regular cash reporting.
- Liaises with Corporate Central Finance Departments and related financial institutions.
Other responsibilities /tasks: - Preparation of ad hoc analysis at the request of management
- Direct and/or participation in special projects at the request of management
- Supports other General Accounting team members as needed
- Ensures timely resolution of issues
- Drives initiatives to promote streamlined processes, operational efficiency and enhanced internal controls
- Supports new system implementations (when applicable)
- Provides timely Finance support to operational teams as required and facilitates cross-functional communication
Key Requirements: Skills, Experience, Education, Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Certifications, Language - Must have University degree with a specialization in Accounting
- Accounting designation (CPA-CMA, CGA or CA)
- 5+ years’experience in financial reporting and analysis
- Strong English language skills
Preferred Qualifications - Preferred attributes for the position, which are not required in the minimum qualifications (e.G., master degree)
- Experience with large accounting software (SAP preferred)
- Excellent knowledge of excel, including advanced functions
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- Very Good team working skills
- Experience of liaising with external auditors
- Organize workload to meet deadlines and work with little supervision
- Must be able to work under pressure of deadlines
