The Data Protection (DP) group is responsible for implementing the Firm’s Data Cybersecurity Strategy through the architecture, engineering, deployment, and operation of enterprise data security controls and capabilities. The group maintains a sustained focus on architectural rigor, automation, Agile delivery, and the effective adoption of Data Protection Services controls by users and business partners.
The Data Protection Services (DPS) fleet designs, engineers, and operates solutions that protect data at rest and in transit and escalate potentially inappropriate use of the Firm’s data to the appropriate incident response teams.
The DevOps Engineer will join the DP Dev Squad, which integrates the Firm’s strategic application development platforms and tools throughout the software development lifecycle. The position requires hands-on engineering to integrate applications and services, support solutions deployed in public cloud and on-premises data centers, and enhance proactive data governance capabilities in collaboration with Technology teams, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors.
The DP Dev Squad is a specialist unit within the Data Protection Services group, comprising software developers, DevOps engineers, and infrastructure engineers. The squad provides development, integration, and strategic capabilities that enable enterprise-wide data discovery and supply downstream systems supporting data security, compliance, privacy, threat monitoring, and analytics. The team places particular emphasis on data controls and their effective implementation in cloud environments. Operating within a flat, Agile structure, the squad promotes collaboration, accountability, and professional autonomy across Glasgow, Bengaluru, and Montreal.

Professional Skills
Demonstrated experience working effectively within Agile delivery teams.
Proven experience integrating products into enterprise environments, including the deployment and integration of open-source products and tools using DevOps methodologies.
Working knowledge of IT Service Management principles and ITIL practices.
Ability to acquire and apply knowledge of proprietary technologies within a complex, regulated environment.
A self-directed approach, supported by demonstrable experience in the technical and application support of enterprise systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, together with a professional and collaborative working style.
A strong automation and orchestration mindset, with a focus on reducing manual processes and enabling product squads to devote greater capacity to engineering activities.

Where will you be working
The position is based in the Firm’s Montreal office and is subject to the applicable hybrid working arrangement, which currently requires onsite attendance three days per week.
