Smart & Biggar is currently looking for a

Business Transformation Analyst

to join our National Finance Team on a 12-month contract. This role will play a key part in helping modernize and standardize billing and broader finance processes across the firm, with an initial focus on our centralized billing initiative. Working closely with the Finance team, legal professionals, and Operations, you will assess how work is performed today, identify opportunities for improvement, design future-state processes, and support implementation and adoption across the business. We’re looking for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, facilitating discussions, challenging the status quo, and helping teams successfully transition to new ways of working. This is not a traditional system-focused Business Analyst role. Success in this role will come from your ability to drive process improvement, build stakeholder alignment, and support meaningful organizational change. If you love untangling complex workflows, bringing stakeholders along, and seeing your recommendations become reality, this role was built for you. This role will fill a new vacancy. Responsibilities.

Lead discovery sessions, workshops, and stakeholder consultations to understand current-state processes, pain points, and opportunities across billing, finance, and operational functions Document and analyze current and future-state workflows, identifying gaps and developing recommendations to simplify, standardize, and modernize processes Partner with business leaders to design practical solutions and support implementation activities Build strong relationships across the organization, facilitate discussions, and drive stakeholder alignment and buy-in for change Support change management activities, including communication planning, training, process documentation, and adoption strategies Track progress, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement following implementation Qualifications, Competencies And Experience.

5+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Business Transformation, Process Improvement, Operational Excellence, Change Management, or a related field Demonstrated experience assessing, documenting, and improving business processes Experience facilitating workshops and working sessions with diverse stakeholder groups Strong current-state and future-state process mapping skills Proven ability to identify process improvement opportunities and support implementation Experience supporting organizational change, communications, training, or adoption initiatives Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills Ability to influence stakeholders and build consensus without direct authority Experience within professional services, finance, operations, shared services, or similar environments is considered an asset CBAP, PMP, Prosci, Lean, Six Sigma, or related certifications are considered assets Compensation.

The base salary for this role will be positioned between $90,000 - $105,000 taking into consideration factors such as location, job-related knowledge, prior experience, qualifications, and internal equity. -- Our recruitment process uses AI-enabled tools to assist with the assessment of applications based on job-related criteria.
