Job description
Job Summary:

The Specialized IT Consultant will provide expert guidance and hands-on technical solutions development to support and sustain the Honours and Awards Case Management System (HAACMS). This role focuses on enhancing and maintaining cloud-based Microsoft technologies to ensure efficient nomination processing and award management in alignment with government digital transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with clients to analyze requirements and recommend IT solutions.
  • Update architecture and design artefacts for the HAACMS solution as needed.
  • Administer and manage changes across cloud environments (DEV, UAT, PROD).
  • Design, configure, and implement sustainment and minor enhancements for public portals in English and French, including user access, authentication, role-based data control, and document management.
  • Develop and sustain case management system features such as lifecycle management, email and correspondence management, document generation, and event management.
  • Implement SharePoint Online document management enhancements.
  • Design and integrate solutions with Ontario Public Service services including postal code lookup, Office 365, identity authentication, data upload, Power BI, and email.
  • Develop Power BI dashboards and reports for transactional and analytical purposes.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities and contribute to testing plans.
  • Coordinate deployment and migration strategies for cloud environments.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions for internal project teams.
  • Ensure solutions comply with OPS Digital Accessibility Standard (ODAS).
  • Produce design documentation and support non-development activities such as documentation updates and presentations.
Required Skills & Certifications:
  • Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in technical solutions development and configuration.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Cloud technologies including MS Dynamics 365 CRM, MS Power App Portal, MS Power Automate, MS Azure Services, MS Azure Attachment Storage, MS Azure Active Directory, MS Azure DevOps, and MS Azure KeyVault.
  • Experience architecting and implementing public-facing portals and case management systems using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Azure cloud services.
  • Expertise in user access and profile management, role-based data access control, authentication and authorization integration, web forms, and document management.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with OPS Digital Accessibility Standard (ODAS).
  • Experience with end-to-end integration of third-party Identity and Access Management (IAM) providers and security tools.
  • Strong understanding of testing and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Proven problem-solving, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet aggressive timelines.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Experience facilitating workshops and meetings.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in large-scale project teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to present new ideas and solutions.
  • Experience with OPS quality assurance activities.
  • Familiarity with service request management and dashboard creation.
Special Considerations:
  • Must work onsite from the office location five days per week.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business and technical requirements.
  • Compliance with government digital and accessibility standards.
Scheduling:
  • Full-time, Monday to Friday, on-site work schedule.
