Project Manager, Engineering Delivery

AECOM Burnaby is hiring a Project Manager – Transit Construction Support

In this role, you will support the day-to-day delivery of Engineering Services During Construction (ESDC) on a large, fast-paced Design-Build project. Your primary focus will be coordinating multidisciplinary engineering responses to construction activities, maintaining visibility of project workload, establishing priorities and delivery commitments, and ensuring construction support activities are delivered efficiently.

Working closely with the Project Manager, Design Lead, discipline leads, ESDC leads, and project coordinators, you will coordinate incoming requests, assign work to the appropriate engineering disciplines, establish priorities based on project needs, and maintain visibility of outstanding work, upcoming commitments, and project risks.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day delivery of Engineering Services During Construction (ESDC) activities across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Review incoming construction support requests and coordinate the assignment of work to the appropriate disciplines.
  • Establish priorities and delivery commitments based on construction schedules, client requirements, and project objectives.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary technical reviews and drive timely responses to completion.
  • Maintain visibility of workload, outstanding actions, commitments, and delivery risks using project management systems and tracking tools.
  • Work closely with discipline leads and project coordinators to resolve issues, remove roadblocks, and maintain project momentum.
  • Escalate significant delivery, schedule, or resource risks to project leadership.
  • Provide regular updates to the Project Manager and project leadership on workload, priorities, commitments, and project risks.
  • Foster strong collaboration between engineering, architecture, and construction teams to support successful project delivery.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or another relevant discipline.
    • PMP certification (or in progress), or another recognized project management certification.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Three (3) or more years of experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering or architectural design deliverables on complex infrastructure or Design-Build projects.
    • Experience supporting Engineering Services During Construction (ESDC), construction-phase engineering, detailed design, design management, or engineering delivery.
    • Experience coordinating multiple engineering disciplines, consultants, and project stakeholders.
    • Experience on infrastructure, transportation, buildings, or other major capital projects.
    • Architectural experience or experience coordinating architectural disciplines is considered an asset.
    • Familiarity with document control systems.

    We're looking for someone who:

    • Enjoys coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.
    • Is proactive, takes ownership, and is comfortable driving actions to completion.
    • Communicates confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Can prioritize competing requests and remain calm under pressure.
    • Builds relationships quickly and earns the trust of both design and construction teams.
    • Thrives in a fast-paced Design-Build environment with multiple concurrent priorities.
    • Maintains a high level of organization and attention to detail.
