QA Automation Engineer – Automation Testing | API Testing | AI-Assisted Testing
Vancouver, BC - Hybrid (3 - Days WFO)
Experience Required: 7+ yrs
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Thorough understanding and hands-on experience in developing and enhancing automation testing frameworks, including web, API, and AI-assisted test automation.
• Experience using mobile automation tools such as Appium, Robot framework, or similar platforms.
• Good knowledge of OOPS programming concepts and experience in Java, .NET, C#, Python, or JavaScript.
• Expertise in implementing QA CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Demonstrated skill in using coding standards and being an active participant in code reviews.
• Expert in automation frameworks such as JUnit, TestNG, Selenium, Playwright and API-level test automation.
• Experience with web service technologies such as XML, REST, SOAP, and JSON.
• Knowledge and practical experience leveraging AI/GenAI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Azure AI) to improve test design, test automation, defect analysis, and productivity.
• Experienced in implementing testing and QA frameworks using Agile methodologies.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
• Knowledge of Performance Testing, performance tuning, workload modelling based on requirements, and supporting performance testing initiatives.
• Understanding of testing AI-enabled applications, intelligent automation, and data-driven quality assurance practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis abilities.
• Knowledge of Cloud technologies and modern application architectures.
• Passion for achieving excellence in technical, process, product quality, and reliability.
• Must be highly detail-oriented, technology-focused, and possess excellent communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Own and lead the test automation strategy, framework design, test planning, and execution activities across products and platforms.
• Support automation script development, framework optimization, and adoption of AI-assisted testing practices.
• Recommend new tools, technologies, AI capabilities, techniques, and methodologies to enhance productivity and quality.
• Create and maintain standard frameworks for Functional Automation, Performance Testing, and intelligent test automation.
• Work with QA and development teams to resolve technical issues and improve overall product quality.
• Leverage AI-based tools and insights to improve test coverage, defect detection, regression efficiency, and reporting.
• Respond appropriately and competently to work challenges when confronted with changes, ambiguity, adversity, and other pressures.
