Job description
Household Manager (Day-to-Day Operations) Role Summary The Household Manager supports the smooth day-to-day functioning of the home by managing routine household tasks, maintaining organization, and proactively handling daily needs. This role focuses on keeping the home running efficiently and comfortably, while complementing (not replacing) existing cleaning services. May require some adhoc child minding and walking to daycare/school (both within 1km). Kids are 5, 3 and 1. Key Responsibilities Daily Household Operations Maintain general tidiness of common areas (kitchen, living areas, entryway) Reset the home throughout the day (e.g., tidy surfaces, organize items, manage clutter) Manage dishes (load/unload dishwasher, keep sink and counters clear) Support daily laundry needs (wash, fold, and put away as required) Kitchen & Food Management Maintain an organized kitchen (fridge, pantry, counters) Track and restock everyday food items and staples Assist with basic meal prep (e.g., chopping, prepping ingredients, simple meals if needed) Manage grocery lists and coordinate shopping or delivery � Household Organization Maintain systemized organization across key areas (pantry, closets, storage spaces) Put away and organize toys, clothing, and household items Ensure frequently used items are accessible and well stocked Support seasonal or routine organization needs (e.g., rotating clothing, tidying storage areas) �� Coordination with Cleaning Services Maintain day-to-day upkeep between professional cleaning visits Prepare the home ahead of scheduled cleanings (tidying, decluttering surfaces where needed) Help maintain standards set by existing cleaners Scope Clarification This role does not include: Deep cleaning duties (handled by external cleaning service) Scheduling or managing appointments, vendors, or household calendars Complex home maintenance coordination Ideal Candidate Profile Highly organized and detail-oriented Proactive and able to anticipate household needs Efficient with strong time management skills Comfortable working independently in a home environment Trustworthy and respectful of privacy Success Measures Home consistently feels organized, calm, and well-maintained Daily household tasks are completed without prompting Supplies and staples are proactively managed and restocked Minimal day-to-day household “mental load” required from the family Hours 3-4 hours/day (15-20 hours/week) - can adjust as role develops, prefer mornings (~7/8am-11am), but open to discuss $20-$25/hour Starting immediately Please visit https://canadiannanny.ca/jobs/seeking-loving-and-reliable-adhoc-nanny-in-calgary-alberta-18hr-canadian-job-ab to view full details and to apply.
