Operations Officer - AML Operations - 58465

We are seeking a detail-oriented Operations Officer III to join our AML Operations team. In this role, you will perform independent reviews, data remediation, and reconciliation for Electronic Funds Transfer Reporting (EFTR) to ensure full compliance with regulatory standards. Operating within a high-visibility, fast-paced back-office environment, you will handle moderate-to-high complexity operational tasks, resolve data discrepancies, and support critical regulatory filings across Canadian and U.S. operations.

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 2 days in office: Thursday & Friday)
Position Type: 4-Month Contract (Full-Time) Extension & Conversion Potential
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Overtime as required)

Responsibilities
EFTR Data Remediation: Perform independent reviews of EFTR data discrepancies and incompleteness alerts; analyze source documentation to determine accurate reporting outcomes and update required data fields within regulatory systems.
Data Validation & Reconciliation: Validate data accuracy through strict reconciliation, exception handling, and verification processes to meet internal SLAs and regulatory guidelines.
Issue Escalation & RFIs: Draft and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) with internal partners to retrieve missing data, resolve conflicting details, and maintain a complete audit trail.
Process & Risk Optimization: Identify operational risks, control weaknesses, and systemic data gaps, offering process improvement recommendations to support overall compliance and efficiency.
Audit & Subject Matter Support: Provide process-level expertise on EFTR reporting requirements during internal audits and regulatory reviews, supporting high standards of data governance.

Qualifications
Must-Have Requirements
1.5+ years of direct, progressive experience in FINTRAC EFTR regulatory reporting.
2 to 4 years of total experience within a corporate or financial services environment.
High school diploma or equivalent background.
High proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong ability to work independently on complex operational tasks with exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and risk awareness.
Nice-to-Have Requirements
Previous experience in large-scale banking or financial enterprise operational environments.
