Health & Safety Coordinator

Our client is seeking a Part-time Health and Safety Coordinator to join their team.

Job Title: Health & Safety Coordinator

Location: Saint John NB

Pay Range: $30-$32.00/hour depending on experience

What’s the Job?

• Oversee HSE activities to ensure legal compliance.
• Perform job exposure analysis to ensure safe work environments according to HSE standards and legislative requirements.
• Monitor the effective implementation of appropriate HSE procedures and provide for their updating in line with changes in legislation and Group standards.
• Develop, implement, and oversee Health & Safety programs.
• Ensure effective incident management including incident investigation, root cause identification, prevention plan setting, follow-up, and reporting.
• Ensure daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections and perform self-assessment and internal audits to comply with local regulations.

What’s Needed?

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering (or equivalent) and experience of at least 1 year in the role ideally in manufacturing companies
• Knowledge of provincial Health, Safety & Environmental legislation is a requirement.
• Great problem-solving skills
• Innovative thinker
• Team player and relationship-building skills
• Professional Safety designation is preferred and considered an asset
• Technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficient computer skills using Excel, PowerPoint and Word
