Procurement Specialist
on behalf of our client, a well-established organization in the
pulp and paper manufacturing industry . This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about supplier management, cost optimization, and continuous process improvement. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting procurement operations, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring efficient purchasing processes that align with organizational objectives. Key Responsibilities
Convert approved requisitions into purchase orders in a timely manner while responding to business needs with a strong sense of urgency. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand operational requirements and procurement priorities. Analyze pricing, quality, and delivery requirements to identify cost-saving opportunities and maximize value for the organization. Ensure purchasing activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, internal controls, and legal and ethical standards. Maintain accurate supplier records and monitor procurement trends. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers through phone, email, and in-person interactions while ensuring fair and impartial treatment of all vendors. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Support procurement initiatives and projects as required. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Arts, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of
5 years of experience
in a supply chain, procurement, purchasing, accounting, or related function. Background in purchasing, finance, or sales is considered an asset. Working knowledge of
Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains)
or a similar ERP system is preferred. Project management experience is an asset. Strong negotiation, persuasion, and relationship-building skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
