Firehouse Subs, founded by real firefighters, is known for its hearty, flavor-packed subs and welcoming team environment. We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Multi-Unit Leader to join our growing organization. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, dependable, and eager to contribute in a fast-paced food service environment.


The Multi-Unit Leader provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for up to six Firehouse Subs restaurants. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, developing high-performing Restaurant Leaders, and delivering exceptional financial performance across the market.

The Multi-Unit Leader ensures every restaurant consistently delivers outstanding guest experiences while achieving company objectives for sales growth, profitability, operational compliance, food safety, and team development.

This position serves as the primary coach, mentor, and business partner for Restaurant Leaders while supporting franchise ownership in executing long-term business strategies.


Primary Responsibilities:

Multi-Unit Leadership

  • Lead and coach Restaurant Leaders across multiple restaurants.
  • Build a culture of accountability, hospitality, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular restaurant visits and operational reviews.
  • Develop succession plans for all management positions.


Financial Performance

  • Own market-level financial performance.
  • Achieve district targets for:
  • Sales Growth
  • Food Cost
  • Paper Cost
  • Labour Cost
  • EBITDA contribution
  • Analyze business trends and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting.


Operations Excellence

  • Ensure consistent execution of Firehouse Subs standards.
  • Standardize operational best practices across all restaurants.
  • Identify operational gaps and implement corrective action plans.
  • Ensure restaurants maintain exceptional cleanliness, maintenance and food quality.


Guest Experience

  • Drive market-leading OSAT performance.
  • Analyze guest feedback trends.
  • Coach Restaurant Leaders to improve hospitality and service.
  • Lead recovery strategies for guest satisfaction issues.


Compliance & Audits

  • Ensure every restaurant maintains Steritech REV audit excellence.
  • Monitor food safety compliance.
  • Conduct internal operational assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and legislative requirements.


Public Safety Foundation Leadership

  • Drive district-wide PSF fundraising initiatives.
  • Increase donation incidence across all restaurants.
  • Promote community involvement and charitable engagement.


Leadership Development

  • Recruit and develop Restaurant Leaders.
  • Conduct performance evaluations.
  • Mentor high-potential leaders.
  • Build internal promotion pipelines.
  • Facilitate leadership training.


Business Development

  • Support new restaurant openings.
  • Lead grand opening readiness.
  • Identify opportunities for catering growth.
  • Assist franchise ownership with strategic planning.
  • Share best practices across the market.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive restaurant management experience
  • Minimum 2 years multi-unit leadership experience preferred
  • Strong financial and business analysis skills
  • Proven ability to coach and develop leaders
  • Demonstrated success improving restaurant profitability
  • Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel regularly between restaurants
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • Food Safe Level 1 (Level 2 preferred)
