Position title: Development Officer, Corporate Marketing Partnerships

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Development, the Development Officer, Corporate Marketing Partnerships supports the growth of NCC's corporate marketing partnership program by engaging businesses across Canada through marketing and sponsorship opportunities that generate flexible funding for NCC's conservation mission.

Working within an established partnership framework, the Development Officer will manage and advance a pipeline of prospective partners, secure new corporate support, and steward active corporate relationships.

The successful candidate is a strong communicator and relationship builder who enjoys business development, managing multiple opportunities, servicing and growing partnerships, building internal relationships, and achieving ambitious goals.

They are comfortable conducting outreach, building new relationships, and representing NCC to a diverse range of corporate audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and advance a pipeline of prospective corporate partners;
  • Conduct prospecting, outreach, cultivation, solicitation and follow-up activities to secure new corporate partnerships;
  • Identify and research prospective corporate partners that align with NCC's partnership program;
  • Prepare partnership proposals, presentations, agreements and other supporting materials using established resources and templates;
  • Support the achievement of annual revenue and partnership targets;
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across NCC including but not limited to Corporate Development, Marketing and regional fundraising teams;
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned corporate partners;
  • Coordinate the delivery of partnership benefits and recognition opportunities;
  • Support partner renewals and retention strategies;
  • Ensure timely and professional communication with partners throughout the partnership lifecycle;
  • Ensure partnership activities align with approved program guidelines and organizational policies;
  • Maintain accurate records of prospect and partner activity in Raiser's Edge or other CRM systems;
  • All other duties assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in business, marketing, communications, fundraising or a related discipline.
  • 2–3 years of experience in fundraising, sales, business development, account management, sponsorship, partnership management or a related field.
  • Experience building and managing external relationships, with demonstrated experience working toward revenue generation, sales or fundraising goals.
  • Strong relationship-building, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence conducting outreach and engaging prospective corporate supporters, with a natural aptitude for business development and prospecting.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively across Corporate Development, Marketing, regional fundraising teams and other internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and internal coordination requirements.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful and results-oriented, with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software applications efficiently; experience using CRM systems is considered an asset.
  • Experience with corporate marketing partnerships, sponsorships, cause marketing or partner benefit delivery is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in French is an asset.
