Our Purpose

At Deloitte, our Purpose is to make an impact that matters. We exist to inspire and help our people, organizations, communities, and countries to thrive by building a better future. Our work underpins a prosperous society where people can find meaning and opportunity. It builds consumer and business confidence, empowers organizations to find imaginative ways of deploying capital, enables fair, trusted, and functioning social and economic institutions, and allows our friends, families, and communities to enjoy the quality of life that comes with a sustainable future. And as the largest 100% Canadian-owned and operated professional services firm in our country, we are proud to work alongside our clients to make a positive impact for all Canadians.

By living our Purpose, we will make an impact that matters.

So, what is next?! We are here to help. At Deloitte, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of client work, while leveraging a diverse and powerful network to solve our clients’ most pressing concerns and complex challenges. Are you up for the challenge of leading at every level, developing a global network of colleagues, and embracing endless opportunity? If so, Deloitte is the place for you.

What will your typical day look like?

Your role in Internal Audit will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Assess business processes, identify risks, and evaluate the design and effectiveness of controls through walkthroughs, documentation reviews, data analysis, and stakeholder interviews.

  • Support internal audit assurance and advisory engagements by documenting processes, testing controls, assessing governance and risk management practices, and identifying opportunities for process improvement.

  • Leverage data analytics and technology-enabled tools to identify trends, control gaps, emerging risks, and insights that support informed decision-making.

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their operations, strategic objectives, risks, and control environments while helping develop practical, value-driven recommendations.

  • Prepare audit observations, reports, and presentations, clearly communicating findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Manage competing priorities across multiple client engagements and internal initiatives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility, organization, and professional judgment.

  • Contribute to firm initiatives, including knowledge sharing, innovation projects, practice development activities, proposal preparation, campus recruitment, and community involvement opportunities.

  • Work closely with a collaborative team to deliver exceptional client service while developing your analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.

About the team

Our teams are committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment where quality, professional development, mentorship, apprenticeship, and wellness are at the forefront of how we work. We are intentional about helping one another grow through meaningful coaching, hands-on learning, and opportunities to build lasting relationships across the practice.

As part of Deloitte's Internal Audit practice, you will work across a broad range of industries to help organizations assess risk, evaluate controls, strengthen governance frameworks, and support business strategic initiatives. Deloitte Internal Audit is unique because of its forward-looking approach and focus on supporting clients in improving business operations, risk management, and achievement of organizational objectives.

Deloitte's Internal Audit practice strives to be the partner of choice to operate, elevate, and modernize our clients' internal audit capabilities. We design and deliver internal audit programs that drive organizational value through outcome-focused, digitally-powered methodologies grounded in deep industry and domain expertise. We will help clients transform their internal audit functions through technology enablement, AI integration, and capability building – ensuring they are efficient, trusted, and future-ready.

Our practice offers opportunities across several offerings and industries:

  • Internal Audit Program Execution: Executing internal audits of domains/functions across our clients’ organizations through varied engagement constructs (e.g., outsource, co-source).

  • Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR): Providing testing, assurance, and advisory support for clients’ internal controls over financial reporting to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements.

  • Internal Audit Strategy & Transformation: Advise clients on how to improve, optimize, and modernize their Internal Audit functions and capabilities to deliver greater value and efficiency.

You will gain exposure to business operations, emerging risks, and strategic initiatives while developing an understanding of how organizations navigate complexity and drive growth.

Career Development

Your career path at Deloitte is flexible and designed to evolve with your interests. You will gain experience across Internal Audit services, including audit delivery, ICFR, SOX, governance and risk assessments, and advisory engagements. Professional development opportunities include mentorship, technical training, and support toward CPA, CIA, and CISA professional designations.

Enough about us, let us talk about you

In these roles, the expected qualifications are:

  • Curious, analytical, and strong problem-solvers who are interested in understanding and evaluating complex business processes, assessing risks and controls, and helping clients strengthen their risk and control environments.

  • Strong communicators with the ability to collaborate in teams, engage with clients, and clearly communicate insights and recommendations.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work.

  • Motivation to learn and eager to grow in a dynamic environment while advancing their technical and analytical skills.

  • Actively pursuing or holding a CPA designation is preferred, but not required

  • For those pursuing a CPA designation, a portion of time will be dedicated to supporting external audit engagements to develop financial reporting knowledge and core CPA competencies.

  • Preferred areas of academic study/background: Business, Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related discipline (i.e., technical backgrounds, data analytics, AI, etc.). We encourage applications from candidates with diverse academic backgrounds.

  • Quebec office locations: We require basic English language skills to meet the needs of our clients. In the context of mandates, you could work for clients with activities outside of Quebec and where the first language is English.

Total Rewards

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $65,000 and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program. Deloitte is fair and competitive when it comes to the salaries of our people. We regularly benchmark across a variety of positions, industries, sectors, targets, and levels. Our approach is grounded in recognizing people’s unique strengths and contributions and rewarding the value that they deliver.

Along with a competitive base salary and variable pay opportunities, we offer a wide array of initiatives that differentiate us as a people-first organization. Some examples include flexible work arrangements and hybrid work structures.
