PROGRAM MONITOR Position Type: Temporary Part Time Number of Positions: Two (2) Department: Community Services Department - Recreation Division File Number: SV26-91 Location: Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre (265 Cannifton Road, Belleville, ON) Hours: Hours of work vary – daytime, evening and weekend shifts are available; 2-10 hours per week, September 2026 – September 2027 Employee Group : Non-Union Salary: Grade 19 $16.94-$18.66 per hour Closing Date: Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 4:30 PM PURPOSE AND SCOPE: As a member of the Community Services Department, this position will oversee a program and the participants (in their designated recreational program) in a variety of activities in a friendly, engaging, and caring environment.

They ensure safety and answer general questions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Represent the City of Belleville in a professional manner with appropriate actions and conduct.

Ensure the safety and supervision of the participants by following all rules and regulations set out by the Department and/or outside organizations.

Responsible for the completion of attendance and any required paperwork as per the Department Procedures.

Responsible for problem-solving when issues arise and to provide quality customer service.

Assume the responsibility for assessing and responding in an emergency situation and completing the necessary reports.

Ensure with the proper handling and care of the equipment, supplies and facilities utilized, and reporting damages or losses to Programmer.

Ensure the cleanliness of the facility at the end of each program.

Completion of the required administrative forms (ie.

Injury, incident forms, supply requests, daily logs, etc.).

Attend all staff training sessions and scheduled staff meetings.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/SPECIALIZED SKILLS & WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum Qualifications: Minimum enrolled in Highschool, or equivalent Standard First Aid with CPR-C or Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C and AED A satisfactory Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check Preferred Qualifications: High Five – Principles of Healthy Child Development or Older Adult certification Enrolled in a post-secondary school child-related, recreation, social work or related field of study Experience planning and implementing recreation programs Excellent Customer Service skills HOW TO APPLY: www.belleville.ca/careers We thank all applicants who apply but advise that only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
