Our business strategy leverages world-class technologies, motivated and talented people, and high-quality products.Our Mission is to make people's lives better by:Delivering outstanding quality products and services to our customers;Providing meaningful opportunity, job satisfaction, and job security for our people;Being positive contributors to our communities; and,Providing superior long-term investment returns to our stakeholders.Our strength is our peopleWe invite you to follow your dreams and explore a challenging and rewarding career at Martinrea.Job Summary: Responsible to identify and improve the outcomes of manufacturing and operational processes to improve efficiencies, reduce cost and increase customer serviceRequired Education and Experience:University and/or technical college in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering or Business with following experience:Minimum 3 - 5 years of manufacturing, welding and general maintenance related experience in automotive industryClear and precise understanding of automotive OEMs practices and expectationsDemonstrated leadership capability with leading organization for leadership and competencyExcellent Communication Skills (oral and written)Working knowledge of automotive customersExcellent organizational and time management skillsTravel required on occasional basisEssential Functions:Plan, coordinate, lead and participate with various multi-disciplined teams addressing objectives associated with the manufacturing and assembly process, productivity, volume outputs, scrap and rework, quality, safety, and delivery commitments to optimize a profitable operationResponsible for execution of corporate guidelines in all aspects of manufacturingTrain manufacturing operations in corporate protocols ensuring optimal resultsEnsure manufacturing and assembly processes comply with pertinent health, safety and environmental legislation, practices, and proceduresLead Continuous improvement projects following lean manufacturing tools:Training of employees from upper management to operator on lean manufacturing methodology and cultureSystematically identify and eliminate waste on manufacturing floorPush to implement innovative and creative new ideas and methods in Process improvement and OrganizationMeasuring and improving machine and operator efficienciesAssess and implement projects in relation to current or future product planningDraft and design layout of equipment and materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiencyReview production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activitiesRequisition tooling, capital and tryout material for projectsDevelop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilizationAdvise management and user personnel in development of production and design standardsStudy operations sequence, material flow, functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities. Value analysis and value engineering ideasUse statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish productivity objectivesParticipate in development of in-house manufacturing processes, equipment, fixtures and toolingDevelop and provide guidance to error-proof all aspects of the manufacturing and operational processConduct studies and implement project plans to improve production efficiencies, cost reductions and reduce manufacturing costsTroubleshoot process/equipment related issues and fine tune process to eliminate process-induced defectsReview processing methods and provide continuous development of manufacturing techniques that will improve in-house capabilitiesSupports in development of Process flow charts, Control Plans, PFMEA, DFMEA and Prototype buildsSupport in development of Preventative Maintenance Program for all manufacturing process equipmentWork Environment:40% Office environment, 60% Plant floor (PPE required)Physical Demands:Must be able to lift up to 35lbs.Must be able to work with push pull forces of up to 50lbs. or lessHealth and Safety:Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and proceduresMust use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the CompanyOther Duties: This job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive list of duties and responsibilities required for this job.
