What you'll be doing:
  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to identify functional, cognitive, emotional, psychosocial, and environmental factors impacting recovery and return-to-work readiness.
  • Complete initial screening assessments to identify medical and non-medical barriers affecting functioning, recovery, and workplace reintegration.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-work plans that support functional improvement and sustainable work outcomes.
  • Administer, interpret, and analyze standardized and non-standardized occupational therapy assessments, incorporating client goals and perspectives into treatment planning.
  • Provide individual occupational therapy interventions, counselling, coaching, and skills development to enhance daily functioning, vocational performance, and community participation.
  • Facilitate evidence-informed therapeutic, psychoeducational, skills-based, and activity-focused group interventions.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, employers, Workers' Compensation Boards, referral sources, and other stakeholders to address return-to-work barriers and support successful workplace reintegration.
  • Develop gradual return-to-work plans and provide recommendations regarding functional capacity, workplace accommodations, restrictions, limitations, and prognosis.
  • Participate actively in interdisciplinary assessments, case reviews, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, and discharge planning.
  • Prepare timely, comprehensive, and high-quality clinical documentation, including assessment reports, treatment plans, progress updates, and discharge summaries.
  • Support clients in improving activities of daily living, work performance, social participation, and overall occupational functioning.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure continuity of care and positive client outcomes.
  • Contribute to program development, quality improvement initiatives, outcome measurement, and evidence-based practice activities.
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and support to students and interns as required.
What we're looking for:
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program.
  • Current registration in good standing with the applicable provincial College of Occupational Therapists.
  • Experience providing occupational therapy services to adults with mental health, psychological injury, rehabilitation, disability management, or return-to-work needs.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational therapy assessment frameworks, functional capacity evaluation, and vocational rehabilitation principles.
  • Experience developing and implementing individualized treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-work plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate both individual and group-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Knowledge of workplace accommodations, disability management, workers' compensation processes, and return-to-work best practices.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent report writing, documentation, and communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with clients, employers, referral sources, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and client-centered care.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a diverse caseload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supporting students, interns, or professional learners is considered an asset.
