Job description
My African Grey Parrot (Pepper) is in need of extra attention during the day while I'm at work. This kind of bird is a very social animal and can only endure being alone for a maximum of 6-8 hours. My job takes me away from home for almost 13 hours Monday-Thursday and 10 hours on Fridays. I figure that one visit for 1 or 2 hours a day with the attention or presence of another person would help out Pepper greatly. As she gets to know her pet sitter over time she will begin to be very happy to see them when they arrive. Pepper is a hand tame bird. Who will perch on your finger upon command, when offered a treat. She does like perching on the shoulder. Though I am in the process of training her now to stay on her play gym/ perch for most of the time outside her cage. She is about 6 months old right now. She is very attentive and talking to her consistently in a gentle voice is beneficial for her well being. I have read that it's good for these birds to socialize with more than one person.
