Position Overview
Our Client is seeking an experienced SAP FI/CO Lead Consultant. In this role, you will lead or contribute to the design, implementation, and optimization of core Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) solutions tailored to manufacturing operations.
You will bridge the gap between financial business processes and cloud technology, ensuring seamless integrations across supply chain, production, order management, and financial reporting.

Start Date: August 31, 2026
End Date: September 30, 2027
Location: Kelowna, BC.
Work Model: Hybrid. The bulk of the work will be remote. There will be travel required to Kelowna for Blueprinting/Design, Kickoff, and key milestones. Travel expenses will be paid for.

Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Implementation: Design, configure, and deploy SAP S/4HANA Cloud (Public Edition) FI and CO modules using standard SAP Best Practices.
Manufacturing Integration: Align financial processes with manufacturing workflows, including Product Costing (CO-PC), Cost Center Accounting (CO-OM), Profitability Analysis (CO-PA/Margin Analysis), Standard Costing, WIP calculation, and Variance Analysis.
Cross-Module Integration: Configure and support tight integration between SAP FI/CO and key operational modules such as MM (Materials Management), PP (Production Planning), and SD (Sales & Distribution).
Fit-to-Standard & Gap Analysis: Lead Fit-to-Standard workshops with business stakeholders to map finance requirements against standard SAP Public Cloud capabilities, driving scope compliance and minimizing custom extensions.
Extensibility & Analytics: Leverage SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), In-App Extensibility, and Embedded Analytics / SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) to deliver financial insights and reporting without compromising the cloud core.
Process Improvement & Governance: Continuous evaluation of accounting workflows, month-end/year-end closing procedures, asset accounting, revenue recognition, and intercompany processes to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Testing & Deployment: Lead unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT); support data migration activities using SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit; provide post-go-live hypercare support.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate directly with finance leadership, plant controllers, operations managers, and external implementation partners.
Qualifications & Requirements
Mandatory:
SAP Expertise: Minimum 7+ years of experience in SAP FI/CO implementation and support. Hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition is an asset but not mandatory. Experience with S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition / S/4HANA Finance is mandatory.
Industry Experience: Proven track record working within the manufacturing sector is preferred but not mandatory.
Deep FI/CO Mastery: strong knowledge of General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), Product Costing (CO-PC), Material Ledger (ML), and Margin Analysis.
Cloud Mindset: Practical understanding of SAP Activate methodology, Clean Core strategy, Extensibility Framework, and quarterly/semi-annual cloud release cycles.
Key Competencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to financial detail.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to translate complex business requirements into standard cloud capabilities.
Self-starter capable of managing multiple priorities in dynamic project environments.
