Description
Armour Transportation Systems is currently seeking a professional and safety-focused 5-Tonne Delivery Driver based out of Corner Brook, NL.
This position is ideal for drivers who enjoy local and regional deliveries while providing exceptional customer service. Drivers will be responsible for the safe and timely pickup and delivery of freight using a straight truck, ensuring shipments are handled professionally and delivered on schedule.
What You'll Do
• Operate a straight truck in a safe and professional manner.
• Complete scheduled pickups and deliveries within the city and surrounding regions.
• Load, unload, and handle freight safely and efficiently when required.
• Verify shipment details and ensure accurate completion of transportation documentation.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Use handheld scanners and mobile devices to track freight movement.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service during pickups and deliveries.
• Maintain accurate driver logs and required transportation records.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and applicable transportation regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, terminal personnel, and customers.
What You'll Need
• Valid Class 5 (single axle) driver's license with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Clean driver's abstract and criminal record check.
• Previous commercial driving experience is considered an asset.
• Strong knowledge of local and regional routes.
• Ability to safely lift, move, and handle freight when required.
• Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and customer service.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Experience with freight handling, scanning equipment, and electronic devices is an asset.
• Reliable, professional, and dependable work ethic.
