Job description
Adecco is currently hiring a Senior Manager, Supply Chain & Contracting for a full-time, 2-year temporary contract in Port Hope, ON.
This hybrid opportunity is ideal for an experienced procurement and supply chain leader with expertise in complex contract negotiations, strategic sourcing, and commercial management within large-scale, regulated environments. If you have a strong background in leading procurement teams, managing high-value contracts, and partnering with senior stakeholders to deliver critical projects, this is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact.
  • Pay Rate: $95,000 - $115,000/year
  • Location: Port Hope, ON (Hybrid)
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Employment Type: Full-Time | 2-Year Temporary Contract

Responsibilities
  • Lead and resolve highly complex contracting, procurement, and supply chain issues while providing strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Provide advanced analysis and expert guidance on contracting strategies, methodologies, and claims management.
  • Escalate significant issues with well-supported recommendations and assist in resolving complex challenges across the organization.
  • Promote ethical contracting practices and ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Manage a large departmental budget, including planning, forecasting, expenditure recommendations, and budget oversight.
  • Develop departmental tactical plans aligned with the organization's overall procurement and supply chain strategy.
  • Act as the organization's subject matter expert for contracting strategies, negotiation methodologies, and claims management.
  • Lead procurement strategies for major programs and capital projects, including supplier qualification, RFP development, evaluation, contract award, and post-award contract management.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal clients, legal teams, project managers, technical experts, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee negotiations and claims management for large, high-risk contracts, including dispute resolution, mediation, and arbitration activities.
  • Represent management in supplier negotiations and resolve complex contractual issues.
  • Establish and manage strategic supplier relationships to support critical business objectives.
  • Develop supplier performance reports, negotiation proposals, briefing notes, business plans, correspondence, and executive-level reports.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team while fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and maintain open communication across the department.
  • Present procurement strategies, recommendations, and new initiatives to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Foster collaborative relationships across internal departments, bargaining units, and external partners.
  • Support the ongoing development of supply chain capabilities required to execute large-scale programs successfully.
Qualifications
  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Commerce, Law, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional designations such as PMAC, SCMAO, PMP, or equivalent are considered assets.
  • Federal Government Reliability or Secret Security Clearance is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in contracting, procurement, and supply chain management, including senior-level negotiation responsibilities.
  • Extensive experience managing Target Cost Contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of Procure-to-Pay processes, contract lifecycles, and large capital project procurement models such as EPC, Design-Build, and Design-Bid-Build.
  • Extensive understanding of Canadian commercial contracts, competitive bidding legislation, contract law, and procurement best practices.
  • Strong understanding of legal processes related to contract execution and dispute resolution.
  • Experience developing long-term strategic supplier partnerships and managing high-value procurement initiatives.
  • Experience working within integrated program or project teams.
  • Experience in the nuclear industry or another highly regulated environment is considered a strong asset.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, mediation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
  • Proven experience managing budgets, resources, planning, reporting, and team development.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing business and legal documentation.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
  • High level of integrity with a strong commitment to ethical business practices.
