A Psychologist is sought to join the Gender Diversity Program at CHEO. The clinical work for this position will comprise of providing comprehensive assessment and treatment to youth at all stages of their journey with gender identity. The Psychologist will be an integral member of the team and work collaboratively with other members of the interdisciplinary team. The Psychologist will provide care to youth up to 18 years old and their families, providing assessment and evidence based psychotherapy and interventions. Main Responsibilities
Clinical research activities as well as program development, evaluation and quality improvement with the inter‑professional team members. Provide psychological assessment, with a focus on diagnostic formulation as well as short term interventions. Provide psychological treatment using different approaches. Liaise with community psychologists and other health care professionals. Provide supervision/training to pre‑doctoral psychology interns and offer learning opportunities to other student professionals in training. Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings. Performs administrative tasks such as maintaining clinical documentation, progress notes, workload statistics and updating health records in accordance with established standards. Qualifications
Vulnerable Sector Check (Essential) Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from a CPA or APA accredited clinical psychology program (Essential) Registration as a Psychologist in Ontario or eligibility for registration (Essential) Designated practice as a Psychologist in the area of Clinical Psychology with children and adolescents (Essential) Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the assessment of children presenting severe and complex mental health problems (Essential) Demonstrated experience and knowledge in different individual psychotherapeutic modalities (e.g. CBT, DBT) (Essential) Demonstrated experience and knowledge in family therapy (Essential) Demonstrated interest and/or experience with gender affirming care (Essential) Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team (Essential) Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals (Essential) Bilingual (French and English) (Essential) Supervision experience (Preferred) Experience in a pediatric medical setting (Preferred) All OPSEU members shall be granted an interview upon passing the pre‑screening. Fournir une évaluation psychologique complète en mettant l’accent sur la formulation du diagnostic ainsi que sur les interventions à court terme. Fournir un traitement psychologique en utilisant différentes approches. Communiquer avec des psychologues communautaires et d’autres professionnels des soins de santé. Assurer la supervision et la formation des stagiaires pré doctoraux en psychologie et offrir des occasions d’apprentissage à des étudiants en formation provenant d’autres disciplines. Participer à des réunions d’équipe interdisciplinaires. Effectuer des tâches administratives telles que la mise à jour de la documentation clinique, les notes évolutives, les statistiques sur les charges de travail ainsi que la mise à jour des dossiers de santé selon les normes établies.
