Our client is a large, complex public-sector organization that delivers essential programs and services to individuals, families and communities across Alberta. Within its Education and Childcare business unit, the organization supports provincial child care subsidy, family portal and early learning and child care initiatives.
What- The Role:
Business Unit: Education and Childcare.
Hybrid in Edmonton or Calgary.
We are seeking detail-oriented, client-focused Processing Center Advisors to assess child care program applications, determine eligibility and support families, child care providers and other stakeholders. This role requires sound judgment, analytical ability and accurate application of program policies in a high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and process applications, renewals and amendments in accordance with legislation, policies and program guidelines.
- Determine eligibility by assessing financial and supporting documentation.
- Respond to inquiries, explain requirements and help clients navigate online services and application processes.
- Investigate and resolve application, payment, eligibility and system-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records while meeting privacy, security and information-management requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners and support testing, training and process-improvement initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three or more years of customer service and/or retail sales experience.
- Two or more years of experience researching documentation, records, policies or procedures to resolve issues.
- Three or more years of problem-solving or troubleshooting experience in a fast-paced environment, independently and within a team.
- Three or more years of experience prioritizing competing tasks and deliverables in a complex environment.
Nice to Have Experience:
- Relevant post-secondary education in office administration or a related field.
- Four or more years of comparable processing, program administration, benefits administration, eligibility assessment or case-management experience.
- Three or more years of experience using multiple systems and databases while delivering customer service.
- Two or more years of call centre experience.
- Three or more years in an analytical role requiring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience with government programs, social benefits, eligibility assessment or clients facing complex or sensitive situations.
How much:
$27-29/hr commensurate with experience + 4% vacation pay
Where:
Edmonton, AB, or Calgary, AB. This is a hybrid position; however, operational requirements may require onsite attendance up to five days per week. Candidates must live within one hour of their designated Edmonton or Calgary office location.
