The Senior Behaviour Therapist provides ongoing clinical training, leadership, and mentoring to the Hopewell teams. Reporting to the Director of Operations and Support Services, the Senior Behaviour Therapist conducts behaviour assessments, develops and oversees behaviour interventions, provides clinical supervision for the delivery of services, and evaluates the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions to promote positive skill development and enhance quality of life for the individuals supported. This position may be held by a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) or a Registered Behaviour Assistant (RBA) (or equivalent credential) with advanced training and experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). The Senior Behaviour Therapist plays a key leadership role in guiding evidence-based behavioural supports, building staff capacity, and ensuring all clinical practices align with Hopewell’s mission, vision, and values as well as the requirements of the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) and the Quality Assurance Measures (QAM). DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

BEHAVIORAL PROGRAMS & CLINICAL LEADERSHIP

Conduct functional assessments and interpret results to inform Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs). Design, implement, and monitor behaviour interventions aligned with Hopewell’s mission, vision, values, and Quality Assurance Measures (QAM) standards. Provide clinical supervision, training, and feedback to staff, fostering evidence-based practices. Collaborate with program managers and consulting professionals to evaluate and refine BSPs and skill development programs. Ensure all behaviour support strategies respect the rights of individuals, and that intrusive measures are employed only when absolutely necessary. TEAM MENTORSHIP & CAPACITY BUILDING

Supervise other behavioural therapists and support leadership development within the clinical team. Mentor and support staff in problem-solving, clinical decision-making, and applied behaviour analysis techniques. Deliver professional consultation, training, and guidance to enhance staff capacity and service quality. ADMINISTRATIVE & COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Quality Assurance Measures (QAM) requirements. Prepare reports and ensure data-driven evaluation of behaviour support plans. Serve as a resource to families, staff, and community agencies, fostering collaboration and consistency across environments. Maintain professional accountability, adhere to ethical standards, and report any contraventions of legislation, policies, or clinical practice standards. COORDINATION & RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

Oversee programming for assigned clients, including data analysis, updating Behaviour Support Plans (BSP)s, attending team meetings, and evaluating outcomes. Stay current with best practices, emerging research, and innovations in ABA and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Psychology, or a related field with verified coursework in behaviour analysis is required. Current registration as a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA) with the college of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario is required. Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in behaviour analysis, including supervision of therapists and program oversight. Demonstrated competency in conducting functional assessments and supervising behaviour analytic interventions. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Commitment to ethical, assent-based practice and willingness to advance skills in this area if needed. Current Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain). Valid CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). 2+ years of experience in applied behaviour analysis, including assessment, program design, data collection, and BSP implementation. EXPERIENCE

Strong background in supervising clinical teams, including training, mentoring, and performance management of therapists. Extensive experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, developmental disabilities, and other developmental or behavioural needs across the lifespan. Demonstrated experience conducting functional behaviour assessments and developing comprehensive behaviour intervention plans. Strong background in supervising clinical teams, including training, mentoring, and performance management of therapists. Advanced proficiency in data analysis and decision-making within ABA frameworks. Experience collaborating with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams. Familiarity with a range of assessment tools is considered an asset. Experience working within assent-based, trauma-informed, or client-centred frameworks is highly preferred. Strong clinical writing and documentation skills. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with research and best practices in behaviour analysis. ACCOUNTABILITY

Report to supervisor any contravention of the legislation, standards, or policies and procedures, e.g. defective equipment, or hazards in the work environment. Understand and follow guidelines for financial accountability with respect to petty cash, purchasing for the individuals and the program, individuals’ accounts etc. Take a leadership role in maintaining compliance with quality assurance measures as mandated by MCCSS. Recognizing and responding to vocalized and implied needs of residents in a timely, nurturing, and professional manner, as well as working well with workplace peers/colleagues. Maintaining a positive attitude about the workplace is critical to maintaining a pleasant relationship with residents and peers.
