THE ROLE

As a Mess Supervisor (Hospitality Supervisor), you provide an excellent customer experience in our military messes. During big events to every day moments, you will build a rapport with the military community while utilizing your operational and hospitality experience. Military messes are places where Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members come together to socialize and foster morale. The Mess Supervisor (Hospitality Supervisor) provides hands‑on assistance in planning, organizing, supervising mess activities, bar service and mess operations. You will supervise and train employees, prepare work schedules and ensure their accuracy for payroll. You will ensure strict requirements for health, hygiene and safety. You will interact directly with clientele, taking orders and assisting with set up and take down of functions. This is a role where everyone works as one team to provide the best customer experience for our members and contributes in creating a positive workplace. Qualifications Needed

Education, Certifications and Licenses

• High school diploma AND several years of experience in the food and beverage service, or a related hospitality field
• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol (ON)
• Must possess a Responsible Service of Alcohol certification (ON)
• Valid Driver’s Licence (ON), an asset

Experience

• In providing hospitality and bar operations services
• In budget administration
• In cash handling
• In preparing bank deposits and floats
• In event planning and organizing
• In inventory control
• In personnel administration

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

Language Requirements

• English Essential, Bilingual (English and French) an asset
• Reading: Functional
• Writing: Functional
• Oral: Functional

Other Information

Perform heavy lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 50 lbs/23 kg). This is an on‑site position with an assigned work location. This Category I unionized position is open to all interested parties. Preference will be granted in accordance with the Collective Agreement for the PSAC bargaining unit for NPF Category I employees at CFB Kingston.
